Regan Thomson Wins NSF CAREER Award
10 July 2009 Chemistry professor Regan Thomson has won a prestigious Faculty Early Career Development (CAREER) Award in the field of organic chemistry from the National Science Foundation. The NSF CAREER awards are highly competitive and recognize excellence in integrated research and education. Professor Thomson, who joined the chemistry department in 2006, will use his half million dollar five-year grant to fund his work on new reaction design and the synthesis of complex biologically active molecules. After his five-year RO1 award from the National Institutes of Health, this is Professor Thomson's second major US government grant. |
