Patrick Hayes Wins Graduate Student Award for 59th Lindau Nobel

Patrick L. Hayes, a chemistry PhD student in professor Geiger's group
and ARCS scholar, has won a graduate student award to attend the 2009
Lindau meeting of Nobel Laureates. This year's meeting features an all-
star lineup of 19 chemistry Nobel Prize winners that is to be held the
week before the July 4th weekend in the city of Lindau, located on
picturesque Lake Constance near the Swiss/German border. Together with
around 70 other US chemistry PhD students, Patrick will be rubbing
shoulders with Nobel Laureates Peter Agre,  Paul Crutzen, Robert
Grubbs, Rudy Marcus, Sherry Rowland, Dick Schrock, Gerhard Ertl, and
Roger Tsien, just to name a few. "Ich fahre nach Deutschland!",
exclaimed an enthused Patrick Hayes upon being notified by the
selection committee. Gute Reise, viel Spass, and don't forget your
camera and your business cards!
